The "reef" of the Golden Triangle business sea

I am Surayut Pompani, the chairman of the largest teak furniture group in Chiang Mai. I travel between Bangkok and Yangon every week, strategizing in red wine dinners and cross-border negotiations. During the Songkran Festival in 2024, a sudden illness disrupted my originally orderly life rhythm. The persistent low-grade fever and dull pain in the right upper abdomen made me feel uneasy. The results of the MRI examination at the Bangkok Hospital were like a bolt from the blue - advanced liver cancer, the tumor diameter has reached 8 cm.

Bangkok Hospital’s “Standard Verdict”

Thai doctors recommended laparotomy to remove the tumor, but during the operation, they found that the tumor was close to a large blood vessel and could not be safely removed. They could only undergo palliative chemotherapy. Three months later, my condition deteriorated sharply, my jaundice worsened, I had ascites, and my weight dropped rapidly. I couldn’t even hold up my custom-made suit. The most tormenting thing was the severe pain in the liver area at night. Even with the maximum dose of the morphine pump, I had difficulty falling asleep. Faced with such a predicament, I almost lost hope.

The “secret weapon” of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce

The turning point came from an accidental exchange at the Chiang Mai Chinese Chamber of Commerce. Vice President Li shared his treatment experience at Guangzhou R&F Hospital: “Chinese doctors use nanoknife to ‘cut’ the tumor without surgery!” This news is like a ray of light in the darkness, giving me new hope. Afterwards, I contacted the Chinese team through video consultation. They used holographic projection to show in detail the working principle of nanoknife therapy: 1500 volt high-voltage electric pulses are used to accurately destroy tumor cells while preserving the integrity of surrounding important structures such as blood vessels and bile ducts. In addition, interventional therapy injects drug-loaded microspheres through the hepatic artery to block the tumor’s nutrient supply and further reduce the tumor size.

Zhujiang New Town's "Life Reshaping"

In September 2024, I flew to Guangzhou with Thai herbs and painkillers. At R&F Hospital, I received a high-tech treatment experience, Nanoknife surgery: Under local anesthesia, the doctor inserted the Nanoknife catheter into the tumor site through percutaneous puncture, and the ablation process was completed in just 30 minutes. Six hours after the operation, I was able to eat Tom Yum Goong soup, and the recovery speed was amazing; Interventional treatment: The doctor inserted a catheter from the femoral artery and injected drug-loaded microspheres, which can accurately reach the tumor site, release drugs and block its blood supply. After several treatments, the tumor volume shrank by about 15% per week; Combination of Chinese and Western medicine: The Chinese medicine doctor used acupuncture to relieve my bloating symptoms, and the nutritionist customized a Thai anti-cancer meal containing turmeric according to my physical condition to help me better absorb nutrients and strengthen my physical fitness.

After six months of comprehensive treatment, CT showed that the tumor was completely necrotic, and the alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) index dropped from 2000 to 25. Not only am I now able to play golf on my own, I have also restarted my timber sourcing program in Myanmar and have regained control of my life.
