Where the nightmare begins
In 2019, my life was completely disrupted by an illness. At first, I was just tired and thin, and then a lump appeared in my abdomen, and even eating became a torture. The doctor in the Philippines diagnosed me with duodenal cancer, but the local medical conditions are limited, the risk of surgery is extremely high, and the effect of chemotherapy is not obvious. The doctor even told me tactfully: "Maybe I should make some arrangements for my family." During that time, I seemed to be pushed into the abyss until a friend recommended the Guangzhou R&F Hospital International Cancer Center.

Holding the last glimmer of hope, I flew to Guangzhou. Treatment that gave me a new lease of life
In the Philippines, doctors had recommended open abdominal surgery, which was traumatic and difficult to recover from. R&F Hospital developed a "laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery + targeted therapy" plan for me. The surgeon explained to me using a 3D model: "Minimally invasive surgery only requires a few small holes, with less bleeding and can protect surrounding organs." Before the treatment, I was only 50 kilograms and even had difficulty walking; on the third day after the surgery, I was able to get out of bed and move around! With targeted drugs and nutritional support, my physical strength gradually recovered and the abdominal mass completely disappeared.
Gratitude and rebirth
Now, my weight has returned to 65 kg, I can play football with my grandson, and even plan to return to work. Looking back on this experience, I am filled with emotion: in the Philippines, I faced "traditional solutions" and helpless doctors; while in R&F Hospital, I felt the power of teamwork and the miracle of precision medicine. The doctors here not only saved my life with technology, but also cured my fear with patience and respect.
