"Health Alert" of Coconut Coast

I am Carlos Santos, Chairman of a chain of resorts in Manila. I travel between Cebu, Boracay and Hong Kong all year round, making plans in beach parties and investment negotiations. During Holy Week in 2024, I thought that persistent abdominal distension and mucus and blood in stool were seafood allergies, until a colonoscopy revealed a huge tumor in the ascending colon - advanced colorectal cancer with liver metastasis.

Manila Hospital's "Passive Defense"

Philippine doctors recommended open abdominal surgery to remove the tumor and chemotherapy. The postoperative stoma bag prevented me from attending public events, and six rounds of FOLFOX chemotherapy led to peripheral neuritis, which made it difficult for me to even hold a golf club. At the most desperate time, I could only lie in a wheelchair to handle group affairs through video conferences, watching the aerial footage of the resort, but I didn't even have the energy to inspect it in person.

The "Life Key" of the China-Philippines Chamber of Commerce

The turning point came from the Manila China-Philippines Entrepreneurs Association. President Wang shared his treatment experience at Guangzhou R&F Hospital: "Chinese doctors use interventional embolization to 'starve' the tumor, and then use cryosurgery to 'freeze' the cancer cells!" During the video consultation, the Chinese team used holographic projection to demonstrate interventional treatment: precise embolization of the tumor blood supply vessels through femoral artery cannulation, and injection of sustained-release chemotherapy drugs; cryotherapy uses ultrasound guidance to insert the probe into the tumor, and -196℃ liquid nitrogen instantly forms an ice ball to kill cancer cells.

Zhujiang New Town's "double redemption"

In May 2024, I flew to Guangzhou with dried mangoes and painkillers from the Philippines. The treatment experience is full of technology and humanistic care. Interventional surgery: catheterization from the femoral artery under local anesthesia, real-time DSA imaging accurate navigation during the operation, and roast goose can be eaten the same night after the operation; cryosurgery: percutaneous puncture completes ablation in 30 minutes, and normal diet is resumed the next day; combination of Chinese and Western medicine: Chinese medicine doctors use acupuncture to relieve abdominal distension, and nutritionists customize Philippine-style anti-cancer meals containing coconut milk; cultural adaptation: English + Tagalog translators accompany the whole process, and the ward is equipped with a sacred statue offering table and a national music player

Three months after treatment, CT showed that the liver metastasis disappeared, and CEA dropped from 98 to 2.5. Now I can fly a private plane alone to visit the resort, and I have restarted the Palau Island development plan.
