Abnormal black stools at construction sites
I am Nguyen Van Hung, 48 years old, a construction worker in Vietnam. Six months ago, I was diagnosed with duodenal cancer due to symptoms of jaundice and black stools. At the hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, the doctor recommended that I undergo a partial gastric and pancreatic resection, but the risk of postoperative complications is as high as 50%. Faced with such a high risk, I decided to grit my teeth and undergo chemotherapy. However, the severe diarrhea caused by chemotherapy caused me to lose weight sharply, from 130 catties to 90 catties, and I couldn't even climb the scaffolding.
The life of Chinese students studying abroad was supported
The turning point came from the daughter of my co-worker, who was studying in Guangzhou. After learning about my situation, she helped me contact Guangzhou R&F Hospital. There, the multidisciplinary team (MDT) evaluated and found that although the location of my tumor was complex, it had not yet metastasized widely, and was suitable for cryoablation therapy. The surgeon, Professor Liu, explained to me using 3D images: "We will use a probe as thin as a hair to accurately penetrate the tumor, use an extremely low temperature of -196℃ to 'freeze' the cancer cells, and then heat them up to thaw them, completely destroying the tumor like defusing a time bomb. This technology does not require laparotomy and can protect your digestive organs to the greatest extent."
"Don't be scared by cancer! Today's medical arsenal includes not only 'scalpels' but also 'freezing guns'. "- Nguyen Van Hung
"Ice and Fire Key": Opening a New Non-Invasive Anti-Cancer Battlefield
On the day of the operation, the doctor only left two pinhole-sized wounds on my abdomen. Under the real-time guidance of CT images, the cryoprobe penetrated the skin and reached the core of the tumor. The cryosphere gradually wrapped the cancerous tissue, while the blood vessels and nerves were unharmed due to the cryoprotection technology. The day after the operation, I was able to get out of bed and walk. In order to completely eliminate the hidden dangers, the doctor also arranged photodynamic therapy for me - using special light to activate the drug, like a "laser minesweeper" to eliminate residual cancer cells. After a follow-up examination two months later, the tumor had completely disappeared and my weight returned to 110 pounds. Today, I can not only carry 50 kilograms of cement, but also become an "anti-cancer propagandist" on the construction site.
From frozen tumors to boiling life
"In Vietnam, the doctor told me to either take the risk of surgery or wait for death. China's cryoablation has shown me what true 'precision bomb disposal' is!" Now, every day when I look at the steel frames on the construction site, I always think of the cryoprobe that pierced the cloud of cancer - the "Game of Ice and Fire" of modern medicine, which can support the weight of life better than steel and concrete.
