"Perfect life" before diagnosis

My name is Nguyễn Thị Phương, I am 45 years old and from Hanoi, Vietnam. As a female entrepreneur, I thought I would always be in control of the rhythm of life - shuttling between business meetings and charity events every day, and spending weekends with my husband and two children to enjoy family time. I love yoga and gardening, and I like to take care of my rose garden after busy work. Until last spring, fate gave me a heavy test.

At first, it was just occasional waist and abdominal pain and abnormal bleeding. I thought it was a physiological disorder caused by work pressure and didn't care. But as the symptoms worsened, my husband insisted that I go to the best private hospital in Hanoi for a check-up. A week later, the doctor told me solemnly: "Cervical cancer stage III, chemotherapy must be done immediately." I couldn't stop shaking my hands holding the diagnosis, and my mind was blank.

Failed chemotherapy and hope collapsed

The next three months were the darkest time of my life. Medical conditions in Vietnam are limited, and the side effects of chemotherapy made me miserable: my hair fell out in clumps, I vomited so much that I couldn't eat, and even getting out of bed became a luxury. Even more desperate was that the follow-up examination showed that the tumor had not shrunk, but had spread. The doctor shook his head helplessly: "We tried our best." At that moment, I curled up on the bed, listening to the sound of rain outside the window, and for the first time felt the helplessness of life slipping away at my fingertips.

The decision to seek medical treatment across borders

During a casual conversation, my good friend, a diplomat who had worked in China, told me: "The Guangzhou R&F Hospital International Cancer Center has a technology that combines 'interventional therapy' with 'green therapy', and many advanced patients have regained their lives there." Although I was apprehensive about cross-border treatment, looking at the children's tearful eyes, I decided to give it a last ditch effort.

The miracle of interventional therapy + green therapy

On the first day I arrived at Guangzhou R&F Hospital, I felt a completely different professional atmosphere. Professor Li's team at the Tumor Center explained my condition in detail in fluent English: Interventional therapy will "starve" cancer cells through precise vascular embolization technology, and then repair the body with Chinese medicine conditioning and immunotherapy (green therapy). Professor Li held my hand and said, "You will get better. We have many successful cases."

The treatment process was easier than I thought. The interventional surgery only left a needle-sized wound, and I was able to get out of bed and walk the next day after the operation. With daily acupuncture, Chinese medicine fumigation and nutritious meals, my physical strength gradually recovered. What surprised me most was that my hair stopped falling and my complexion became ruddy. During the third follow-up, Professor Li pointed to the CT image and smiled and said, "The tumor has shrunk by 70%. You are really brave!"

Cancer-free life and transnational gratitude

Now, I have completed all the treatments and returned to Hanoi. Every morning, I can put on my yoga clothes and stretch my body in the garden. On weekends, I ride with my husband and teach my daughter to prune roses. Last month's reexamination showed that the cancer cells in my body have been completely eliminated. Whenever someone asks me about this experience, I will say: "It is China's medical technology that gave me a second life."
